The Body as a Temple

Across many world traditions, the body is seen as a temple. A living system that receives, stores, and communicates information. Even today, we still do not fully understand how it works.

Our ancestors may not have had modern science, but they listened closely. They observed their bodies and the world around them. That is how they learned which plants healed, which remedies worked, and how to restore balance. Many of those same remedies are still being validated by science today.

The Lost Skill of Listening

They knew because they paid attention. They trusted awareness over constant mental noise. Instead of overthinking, they tuned in to what the body was saying in real time.

That ability still exists within us. The difference is choice. The more we practice listening, the clearer the signals become. What we often label as coincidence or random discomfort is usually the body communicating something important.

Start Small: Ask the Right Questions

When something feels off, pause and check in with your body:

  • Am I well rested and hydrated?

  • Are my blood sugar and nutrition supporting recovery?

  • Am I breathing deeply and moving enough?

  • Have I overdone food, caffeine, alcohol, or training?

  • Have I allowed enough rest, recovery, and mental downtime?

The Power of Immediate Feedback

Brain fog, anxiety, fatigue, and tension often have simple roots. When you work through this checklist, the answer is usually clear. Earlier sleep. More water. Less caffeine late in the day.

The body responds quickly when its needs are met. That feedback is how you learn. Over time, awareness sharpens and listening becomes natural.

Trust the Signals

Try it for yourself. You may be surprised how accurate the body can be. One of my clients knows when rain is coming just by how her body feels. She has not been wrong yet.

Your body is always talking. The question is whether you are listening.
